Karalyn has been publishing short stories and poetry for over thirty years in various NZ magazines such as Takahe, Grace, North & South, The Listener, NZ Outdoor, Woman’s Weekly as well as writing poetry in the Christchurch Press, Timaru Herald and the ODT. Her poetry and stories have appeared in anthologies such as John Gordon’s Fresh Fields, and the 3rd Century: New Short Stories 2000 and other collections of NZ writing. She’s published The Adventures of Somerset Bear for the NZ Playcentre Association and the successful 3 book series Kiwi the Engine & Friends for the Pleasant Point Railway and Historical Museum.
