The pop-up library is hosting Waimate Whispers & Wisdom - an afternoon of poetry readings and local talent to celebrate National Poetry Day on 23 August. 

Local poets Karalyn Reid and Mason Gilbert will be sharing their published works, showcasing their evocative language and heartfelt verse. 

Participants are also invited to share their own original poems or a favourite piece during the open mic session. This is a great opportunity to enjoy poetry, discover local talent, and connect with the community. 

The event will take place on Friday, 23 August, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. It is free to attend and open to anyone aged 16 and over.
