The longest-running event in the Waimate district, the Waimate Caledonian Games brings Scottish heritage alive in the heart of Waimate.

Pipers can be heard and Scottish dancers fill the stage. Runners, cyclists and speed skaters participate throughout the day, along with piping competitions, and children's and senior athletics.
