The show of poultry, pigeons, bantams, ducks, cage birds, home industries and vegetables has been held since 1923, and attracts competitors from around the South Island.

Gorgeous orpingtons and classy heritage breeds like the Plymouth Rock Barrel join their enthusiastic owners to strut their stuff at the Waimate Winter Show, providing some bright colour in the middle of winter.
