Such a cool concept! Local floral artist Viv Tumaru, and a small team of family followers, are intent on painting the town floral! Sort of.

They have set up a group called WAI flowers. The aim is to inspire others to use plant material and flowers for floral art. Think street installations, photography, table settings, wedding planning and more.

WAI flowers are going to use social media to inspire and share ideas.

They are kicking things off with a really cool activity that anyone can get involved in: A pop up floral installation on Valentine’s Day. Head to William Boland Park, bring along a red flower and add it to Waimate’s first pop up floral installation.
