Knottingley Park and Arboretum
Knottingley Park and Arboretum is set in a magnificent 36ha park of old exotic trees in a peaceful setting, 2km from Waimate. It is often described as a 'hidden jewel' by those who unexpectedly stumble upon it.
The park has a fabulous camping ground with powered and non powered sites (plus it is pet friendly). A beautiful picnic area is located beside a fun playground, making it the perfect place to lunch with the kids. The loop walking and biking track is a favourite place for walking the dogs. It follows the perimeter of park and is suitable for prams and ebikes. There is also an equestrian cross country course throughout the park (permission to use this must be sought by the Waimate Pony Club).
