Norman Kirk Memorial Swimming Pool
The Norman Kirk Memorial Swimming Pool is kept comfortably warm, with temperatures between 28C and 32C.
The 33.8 m long pool has six lanes. The complex has plenty of seating, a grassed area, BBQ, shaded paddling pool for toddlers, and a shop. Pool toys, flippers, and flutter boards are provided free of charge.
The pool is well supported by the Waimate Swimming Club, which provides swimming lessons and organises competition swimming. There are a number of swimming carnival competition days with swimming clubs outside of Waimate.
During the holidays the pool runs fun days for the children. The pool can also be hired for group functions by firms or clubs.
The pool is open from Labour weekend until mid March.
