The Waimate Branch NZ Society of Genealogists,in collaboration with local community groups, is organising a full day of events celebrating the life of Dr Margaret Cruickshank.

Programme:  

10.00am - Old Waimate Cemetery, McNamaras Road, Waimate   
Blessing, Floral tributes and Ceremonial pipers 


11.00am -  Bushtown Waimate Heritage Park, 20 Dobson Street, Waimate
Dr Margaret Cruickshank Commemorative Totara tree planting and more 


12noon to 1.00pm – Lunch: Waimate Main Primary School Hall, 25 John Street, Waimate
Light lunch available at a charge. Pupils’ display in Waimate Main School Hall


1.00pm – Service:  Memorial Statue, Seddon Square, Queen Street, Waimate  
Floral tributes laid by family, guests & community  


2.00pm – Official Function:  Waimate Events Centre, 15 Paul Street, Waimate
MP Jacqui Dean, Mayor Craig Rowley and Cruickshank family attending
Waimate Main School Children’s items
Community Kapa Haka Group
Brief presentations on Dr Cruickshank's life and 1918 Influenza Pandemic
*First Day Cover and Commemorative stamp on sale*
Waimate Museum and Archives Commemorative display
Mr David Lockyer & Dr Geoffrey Rice – publications on sale 
Floral display
Dr Cruickshank Memorial Board – Posting of group & individual contributions welcome
